If you drive a lifted 4WD, changing a flat tyre in the bush can become a challenge because your factory bottle jack may no longer be effective. With a 50-100mm lift, the jack’s ram is often too short to raise the tyre off the ground, making it difficult to carry out a tyre change safely.
Many four-wheel drivers try to solve this issue in different ways, but each method has its downsides. Some place a piece of wood or rocks under the jack, but this can be highly unstable and increase the risk of collapse. Others invest in a new bottle or trolley jack with an extended ram, though this option can be expensive, bulky, and heavy to carry. Some drivers rely on a High Lift jack, but these can be unstable at height, difficult to use, and not something everyone has.
Roadsafe’s Bottle Jack Extensions and accessories offer a safer and more secure solution for jacking up lifted vehicles. These extensions are designed to slip over the ram of a standard bottle jack, effectively increasing its reach. This allows the jack to sit firmly on the ground while lifting the vehicle, ensuring a stable and secure lift. Jack pads are now part of the range, designed to enhance jacking stability and protect lifted surfaces. They easily slot onto ram extensions or adaptors, providing either a flat 100x100mm head or an angled head suited for axle tubes, rock sliders, and other rounded surfaces up to 80mm in diameter. By distributing the load over a larger surface area, these pads help minimize damage while improving overall lifting safety.
