The GQ & GU Nissan Patrols are notorious for rear coil tower issues, especially when used extensively off-road. This problem is further exacerbated in heavily loaded vehicles, where the rear coil tower brackets can crack or even tear away from the chassis rail. This can lead to several serious consequences, including:
• Vehicle leaning to one side
• Torn chassis rail
• Potential cracks in the chassis rail
• Compressed fuel and/or brake lines, increasing the risk of rupture
• Reduced handling performance
To address this, Roadsafe 4WD has developed the SB003 kit, which reinforces the factory coil tower bracket to help support these loads. The kit is designed to be welded in place inside the existing coil tower for added strength.
In cases where repairs are needed due to a cracked or broken coil tower, the SB003 kit can be installed simultaneously to assist in holding the structure in place while restoring its shape. For a standard installation, expect a workshop time of approximately 3–4 hours.
